Lamborghini announced its plan, launched sports utility vehicle (SUV) LM002. But not a month, this Italian sportcar manufacturer decided to delay the project, as reported carscoop site.
Chief Executive Officer of Lamborghini Stephan Winkelmann said, once the company has an option to extend the supercar segment with a new model having a certain four-door with four passengers (Estoque) and LM002 SUV. However, the SUV segment is considered not capable of representing "supermahal" which is identical to the Lamborghini.
"We have a plan beyond the supercar business, and Estoque able to appear as an answer. This unit gets a lot more response than expected and it was time to see how much ability (Lamborghini) in play outside of its segment," said Winkelmann.
By producing Estoque, Lamborghini will target a new niche that is more concerned with practicality than a sports car. "If we are to be offered Estoque, this third model (after Murchielago and Gallardo), this possibility could be the first car owned by a consumer," lid Winkelmann.
